If you're planning to seek out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance, here's what to expect after our sessions.
Getting Your Superbill
After each session, a superbill is automatically added to your account in the Client Portal, so you can access and download your billing documents anytime, no need to request one separately each time.
What Submitting a Superbill Means
Before you submit, it's worth knowing: submitting a superbill releases medical information that's otherwise protected. That means waiving some privacy and confidentiality rights, your insurance company will typically keep a record of the diagnosis listed on the superbill as part of your permanent file, and they may request additional records related to any claim you submit. This is standard for out-of-network claims generally, not specific to working with me, but it's worth understanding before you decide whether to submit one.
Reimbursement Timeline
Once submitted, your insurance company has to approve the claim before reimbursing you; if it's denied, they'll explain why and you may be able to resubmit. Timelines vary by insurer, but claims submitted electronically are typically processed within about 14 business days, followed by a check mailed directly to you.
Will Bicoastal Counseling & Coaching Submit the Claim for Me?
No, I don't submit insurance claims on behalf of clients. You'll submit the superbill yourself, directly to your insurance company.
